Walking Trails

Have you ever drifted to sleep in a front porch rocking chair as the world slowly passes you by? A chorus of insects, the subtle sound of a flowing mountain stream and the cool foothill breeze is sure to put you in a relaxed state of mind.

Imagine waking up and stepping onto a wraparound porch while drinking your first cup of coffee, where the brisk mountain air gently wakes your body while you smell the hint of burning firewood from a distance. As the sun begins to peep over the mountain and warm the earth around you, you smile as you look upon clear running water, listening to the melody of the rippling mountain stream and the chorus sung by an array of birds and insects as they too begin to wake. As you listen to the woods come out of their slumber, you may see a car slowly drive pass on the quaint dirt road. You look to your left and see a flock of wild turkeys or whitetail deer grazing the adjoining pasture.

The Section Foreman’s House is nestled on an old Railroad grade that meanders along a swift mountain stream known as Little Reed Island Creek. The cozy get away has the longest stretch of creek frontage of our property and is within walking distance of the farm’s winery. The home started its life as a Railroad building and has been uniquely renovated with new and reclaimed construction materials.

Your experience here might be the start of your new beginning. Come to your mountain get away!
