Foster Falls State Park (you can rent bikes, horses, canoes, tubes); great access to the new river and the New River Trail State park. Overall beautiful place! There is also a lot of historical items and information.

The Shot Tower: Next to Foster Falls where they made lead shot for the civil war (very neat place). Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke (VERY COOL)
