The Cabin

Have you ever drifted to sleep in a front porch rocking chair as the world slowly passes you by? A chorus of insects, the subtle sound of a flowing mountain stream and the cool foothill breeze is sure to put you in a relaxed state of mind.

The Virginia Cabin Rental Experience at The CabinVirginia cabin rental at Fariss Farms

Imagine waking up and stepping onto a wraparound covered porch while drinking your first cup of coffee, where the brisk mountain air gently wakes your body while you smell the hint of burning firewood from a distance. As the sun begins to peep over the mountain and warm the earth around you, you smile as you listen to the melody of rippling mountain stream and the chorus sung by an array of birds and insects as they too begin to wake. As you listen to the woods come out of their slumber, you may see a car slowly drive pass on the quaint dirt road. You look to your left and see a flock of wild turkeys or whitetail deer grazing the adjoining pasture.

The Cabin is nestled on an old Railroad grade that meanders along a swift mountain stream known as Little Reed Island Creek. The cozy get away is in a secluded setting where you can be sure to get away from the world if you would like, as you are surrounded by pasture and forest with no neighbors in sight. The cabin is uniquely constructed with new and reclaimed construction materials on the foundation of an old farm house.

The estate and materials started their new life with the construction of the Cabin. Your experience here might be the start of your new beginning. Come to your mountain get away!

The Facts:

The cabin is on a 52 acre tract with a 2 acre yard and 8 acre pasture accompanied by approximately 1/8 mile of creek frontage. Trails lead down to a wonderfully secluded and well-shaded creek-side picnic area and deep swimming hole. The Cabin is located approximately 2 miles from Claytor Lake’s Allisonia public Boat launch and 1.5 miles from access to the New River Trail, a 39 miles linear park that is great for leisurely bike rides or evening strolls.
